MIKE - HUNGER (MUSIC VIDEO)
Fan animated music video I made for Mike's, 'Hunger', off the album, 'MAY GOD BLESS YOUR HUSTLE'.
This was a particularly rewarding video, as I incorporated my usual use of traditional stop-motion techniques, with the new versions of Mid-journey and Runway.
Really loving the direction AI softwares are taking.

HUGH MASEKELA - RIOT (MUSIC VIDEO)
A fan music video for Hugh Masekela's incredible song, 'RIOT', made relevant again, and lifted from the archives, by Earl Sweatshirt. It was sampled as an outro on the 2018 album, 'Some Rap Song's'.
This animation makes use of old drum magazine covers, archival footage, and re-imagined South African and Pan-African histories using Mid-Journey, and other AI Softwares. It also draws from, and re-contextualises famous Harlem Renaissance artworks, and anti-apartheid protest posters.
This video was released on Human Rights Day, a day in which we commemorate the events of the Sharpeville Massacre. On the day of 21 march, 1960, 69 people died and 180 were wounded when police fired on a peaceful crowd that had gathered in protest against the Pass laws. This day marked an affirmation by ordinary people, rising in unison to proclaim their rights. It became an iconic date in our country’s history that today we commemorate as Human Rights Day. It serves as a reminder of our freedom, and the cost paid for our treasured civil liberties.

EARL SWEATSHIRT - ON THE WAY! (MUSIC VIDEO)
A fan music video for Earl Sweatshirt's, ‘Ontheway!’, off the album, 'Some Rap Song's'.
The video makes use of multiple reference points from the Harlem Renaissance movement, such as the work of Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, and Ellis Wilson. I incorporated my usual use of traditional stop-motion techniques, with the new versions of Mid-journey and Runway.

A music video commissioned for Brooklyn based Rapper/Singer Ali Blasé! (2023).

TRIIIP - IDTYU (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
Made in 2022, for the South African, UK based three piece band, 'TRIIIP'.
This video made use of new software at the time: EB Synth . EbSynth is 'Example-Based Synthesis', that's where the name EbSynth comes from. You provide a video and a painted keyframe – an example of your style. EbSynth breaks your painting into many tiny pieces, like a jigsaw puzzle. It then uses those pieces to assemble (synthesize) all the remaining video frames.
